Alia was born in Syracuse, New York and moved to Kansas where she was first introduced to her passion, singing. She's been singing in school since she was in kindergarten. She was also in the schoool orchestra playing the chello and violin and the school band playing the clarinete and saxophone. When she was 12 she moved to Florida in the year 2003. She took a break from singing for a year and then the next year she joined an international touring choir that she was in for three years. While in middle school she was in the band and played the saxophone for two years. When she was 14 the choir she was in toured in Ireland. She quit the choir when she was 16 in the year 2007 after her second tour in Europe (Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic). She has also been in her school choir for three years and was in the church choir for two years. The choir has gone to Districts twice and one time walked away with three superiors. In the year 2005 she was in two shows Grease and The Wizard of Oz where she played chorus members. In 2007 she was a chorus member in Fame. In 2008 she played Jeannie , a lead, in the musical Hair and was asked to play Alice in the musical Big River but had to turn them down because of time conflicts.
